Grace and Peace,
I wish to share an update with our Trintiy Church family about my dad’s cancer treatment. Unfortunately, my dad’s cancer had spread more than the doctors & surgeons had anticipated when he went to have the tumor removed on March 6th.
After talking with his doctors in Roanoke, VA, Dad had an appointment Monday, March 30, at The Duke Cancer Center in Durham, N.C to see if there is a clinical trial available to help with the treatment. While at the appt. my family learned the chemotherapy Dad had been undergoing had helped to shrink the tumor and stop the spread. Meaning, most likely, the cancer found in his stomach had probably already been there, which is why they had a hard time finding it on his Pet scan.
The good news is he can begin his chemotherapy again, while looking for a clinical trial through gene testing. He has another appointment Wednesday, April 1st.
My family and I thank everyone for the prayers, support and comfort you all have given us as we continue to navigate throughthis journey. I will keep the congregation informed when updates come. – In Christ, Pastor Matt
