Who are we?
We are Trinity Lutheran Church, an active and dynamic “family church” in the Lutheran tradition. We are located in the Borough of Jefferson in southern York County, Pennsylvania, where we seek to know Christ and to make Him known; and we are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in the Lower Susquehanna Synod. Our identity centers around our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”
Created by God, we are both individually and collectively imperfect. Are you worried that you might not fit in because you’re not perfect? Don’t worry, neither are we! We sin and fall short, but we are redeemed sinners beloved by God, who sent Jesus Christ to give his life for us. Our Lord Jesus rose victoriously over the grave to give us the promise of eternal life forever with God, and of renewed and abundant life today. As Christians, we enter into the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in our community so that all people may know of God’s love. We’re all about Jesus: Jesus for you! We invite you to join us in this Christ-centered & Spirit-filled ministry!
Our Mission Statement:
“We are a community of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who gather around God’s Word and the Sacraments, and strive to live our lives as Christ would have us live.
Therefore: 1) We welcome the stranger to our worship, make him/her comfortable in our presence, and encourage him/her to return. 2) We reach out to new people in our area and invite them into our fellowship. 3) We communicate openly and honestly with each other, ‘speaking the truth in love.’ 4) We are a force for good in our community, offering assistance to anyone in need.”
